PERSONAL DATA
- Was born in 1959 in Julfa district of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Azerbaijani, liable for call-up, awarded to state orders: two orders and three medals.
- Within 1976-77 work in state farm.
- In 1977-1979 military services passed.
- In 1992-1994 served in the Azerbaijan National Army on voluntary basis.
- From 1993 member of the New Azerbaijan Party and represented it in the electoral bodies.
- From 1995 member of the Union of Azerbaijanian writers.
EDUCATION AND ACADEMIC DEGREES OBTAINED
- In 1985 graduated from the department of “Persian Philology” of the faculty “Oriental Studies” of Baki State University, specialized in “Teacher of Persian language and literature, Azerbaijanian language and literature, philologist-translator”.
- During 1985-1987 worked as the translator in Afghanistan.
- From 1988 work in Baku State University. Presently, associate professor of the chair “Classical Azerbaijani Literature”.
- In 1992 defended PH.D. thesis on the subject “Suli Fagih and his poem “Yusif and Zuleykha”, the poet of the XII century.
- In 2008 defended the doctoral thesis on the subject “The problems of idea and topics in the classical Azerbaijanian poetry” (till XII century).
